About me

 

My name is Rachel Butler and I have been involved with dogs and dog training for over 25 years, having assisted countless people and all breeds of dogs with basic to advanced obedience.

 

Dog training, handling and understanding is an on-going and developing skill.

 

Qualifications, Experience and Membership

 

Certificate of Animal Management (Canine Behaviour and Training) after attending a full-time one year course at Unitec,

 

Seminar and workshop attendance of internationally known dog behaviourists and trainers: Jan Fennell (UK), Brian McGovern (UK),Ian Dunbar (USA) and Sophia Yin (USA)

 

Life member of North Shore Dog Training Club, having held office as President, Secretary and Head Instructor at various times.

I continue to be an active member and volunteer instructor at this club.

 

• A NZKC qualified Assessor for the Canine Good Citizen scheme
• A member of the Association of Pet Dog Trainers New Zealand
• Assessor and member for Canine Friends pet therapy

My personal dog training achievements encompass a wide variety of obedience-related activities.

I have qualified my dogs in a number of New Zealand Kennel Club recognised titles:
